Traffic Calming Required on the B481 approach and leaving Sonning Common

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 08:49, Thursday 13 August 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The speed of traffic in this area in particular the area around the approach to Blackamoor Lane and Red House Drive and up as far as the Bird in Hand Pub is regularly exceeded. The speed and volume of traffic is getting worse, starting around 5.30-6.00am and continuing till 7.00pm in the evening and traffic calming /enforcement measures are needed. As a minimum, radar speed signs need to be installed or perhaps a chicane.

A lot of heavy traffic as well as business traffic uses this route at speeds well exceeding the 30mph indicated and is a danger to pedestrians.

I should be grateful if this request could be forwarded to the responsible officer and their contact details given to me.
