Severe flooding on Northcourt Road

Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 18:51, Wednesday 12 August 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I have often reported the flooding after heavy rain at the Oxford Road end of Northcourt Road. This was slightly alleviated by the installation of special kerbstones with drainage channels. Over the last couple of years these have become blocked and despite the best efforts of Biffa, the flooding has resumed.

I hoped with the resurfacing work that started this week, this would be an opportunity to improve the drainage.

Following this afternoon's rain - this is clearly not the case.

Please see the attached photos taken from the foot of my drive showing the floods covering the pavements on both sides of the road - this is AFTER two layers of new surface have been laid.

This road leads to a primary school, a comprehensive school and a church, and is used a lot by pedestrians and cyclists going to these places - as well as residents wishing to leave their properties.

Please can we have this investigated before the work is completed.
