Cars travelling in the oncoming lane

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 11:27, Wednesday 5 August 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

At the junction of Baldon Lane in Nuneham Courtney, an increasing number of drivers travelling south on the main road (A4074) are using the oncoming lane in the middle of the road to overtake vehicles travelling at the speed limit (30 mph). I have had this happen more than 6 times while travelling on that road.

That lane should be used for oncoming drivers turning into Baldon Lane. Beyond that junction, the speed limit is 60mph.

I would like to suggest that junction should be improved, perhaps with concrete traffic islands to prevent this from happening. Also, I think there should be a speed camera monitoring traffic heading south. There is one but it only monitors the traffic heading north.
