Unauthorised Obstructions Milton Close Henley-on-Thames
Reported anonymously at 12:56, Tue 4 August 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later
I live at 29 Milton Close RG9 1UJ. About half way down Milton Close there is a grass island with a tree. Large vehicles have always had a problem driving to the bottom of the Close and inevitably drive over the grass so destroying it. Very recently some unknown person decided to erect two obstructions to prevent large vehicles passing over the grass. Unfortunately the obstructions have prevented Waste Disposal Vehicles driving to the bottom of the Close. This resulted in the residents having to drag their waste bins half way up the Close. Many of the residents are elderly and live alone. More importantly a Fire Engine would not be able to pass which could be disastrous. I request action be taken to remove these obstruction without delay.

Thank you for your report. Due to previous enquiries regarding this area we are in the process of arranging grasscrete to be placed onsite ,this will hopefully protect the verge from vehicle overrun. Regarding the 2 concrete blocks ,I have placed these back from the carriageway approximately 800mm ,this should give sufficient clearance for larger vehicles to pass .This area will continue to be monitored.
