Hedge cutting along Preston Road in Abingdon

I would like to query the management of the hedgerow running along Preston Road from Bergen Avenue to Kensigton close. Previously this hedgerow was maintained by SODC and cut using hand held power tools. However, the hedgerow is now maintained by OCC Highways department, and was last cut using an agricultural hedge cutter mounted on a tractor. This resulted in many quite large chunks of sharp branches being flung into mine and my neighbours gardens at high velocity!

Whilst I appreciate this might be the most efficient method of cutting this hedgerow, it is in fact dangerous, and because no-one collects and removes the cuttings, it makes the path running between the hedge and the houses almost impossible to use!

I would appreciate a response to my email, indicating whether maintenance of this hedge will be reviewed.
