Double yellow lines?
Reported via iOS in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 09:42, Thu 30 July 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Vehicles keep parking on, or right by the junction of Back St and Elm Close in Tetsworth. Also on the junction of Back St/The Mount/Parkers Hill. Parking on or within 10 meters of the junction. The roads are very narrow. The parked cars make it a blind junction. On numerous occasions this year (this week being the most recent) the bin collection was unable to pass. Other larger vehicles also unable to pass. I doubt if a fire engine could get through. Wonder if double yellow lines could be considered at these junctions?

Thank you for your report and please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in response. The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’, this involves a long and expensive legal process including public consultation, I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the available funding for such a scheme.
We would suggest that an initial approach is made to your Parish Council so that due consideration can be given towards its priority within the local area and so that the proposal can be endorsed and promoted locally. Parish Councils are also well placed to secure the necessary financial cost to such a scheme.
It should be noted that if vehicles are parked in such a manner as to cause an obstruction of the highway they are committing an offence under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and can therefore be moved by Thames Valley Police although, from experience, matters can also often be overcome with local understanding.State changed to: Investigation complete
