Flooding from surface water manhole

Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 14:32, Wednesday 29 July 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Flooding from manhole likely as a result of a blocked drain on the entrance of Gorwell on Brook Street Watlington. The water is gushing with force out of the manhole and the escaping water flooded the whole entrance to Gorwell with a small river running down the side of Brook Street into Cuxham Road. Drain should be investigated and cleared. Video of incident sent direct to OCC.

  • The flooding was terrible yesterday. All the surrounding drains were clear and running fine but the blockage at the bottom of Gorwell/under Brook Street was causing the water to back up a significant way up Gorwell.

The manhole has come off again too due to the force of water.

I took a video like the previous poster and can send it if you let me have an email Or link to upload it too, I thought it might help you identify/locate the blockage showing which drains are clear and which are blocked.
