In front of 2 Cromwell road, Banbury OX16 0HH

Tree has its branches hanging right over the fence and driveway. The sap is coming off the tree and coating the cars. Last week there were some engineers who were up the trees about 2 doors up trimming the branches. They said they were due to trim some off the offending tree but when I got back from work it did not look like any had been done. Please could you let me know if this tree has a TPO on it and if it has what can I do to just get it trimmed back a bit so it does not drip sap onto the cars. I would be happy to get a professional in to just trim a few branches if required.

Thank you for your enquiry. Individual landowners/householders are quite within their common law rights to cut back any overhanging vegetation to the point at which it crosses their boundary. The boundary is usually a feature such as a fence, wall or hedge. Landowners are allowed to cut this back as often as is required without seeking permission. Should the encroaching limb/s be significant in nature, we would very strongly suggest contacting the relevant local authority before carrying out any works.
Many thanks for your enquiry
