Lavender overgrowing footpath becoming a serious hazard
Reported in the Grass and Hedges category anonymously at 15:02, Friday 17 July 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The owners are growing lavender from their property but it is now causing a serious hazard to pedestrians and families with small children.
It is very lovely but it is now just out of control. It really needs to be maintained at a more manageable size.

Thank you for the update, yes, unsurprisingly that is the obstruction.
Its very bitter-sweet, as I really like the bush but it is now, sadly, too big.

Thank you for your report. I have visited the site and assessed the problem that you have identified. I have requested a 28 day notice be sent to the residents or owners of 56 Arthray Road to cut back or remove the lavender, obstructing the footway, that they have planted on our verge.

Thank you for your report. I have handed a 14 day notice to the residents or owners of 56 Arthray Road to cut back or remove the lavender, obstructing the footway, that they have planted on our verge. They said that they had cut it back a bit and as it was a rented property they would inform the landlord, of our request, to cut back or remove more.
