These are the trees that abut 22 Old Parr Close, Banbury from the verge of Upper Windsor Street (A4260). About six years ago, these were reported and workers were despatched to clear a 2m space back from the fence, all the way along the fence. This request is to perform exactly this process again as part of the regular maintenance of the treeline. I believe this was done by OCC previously, though I have no documentary evidence as all contacts were by phone. I've spoken to Cherwell and they say the land is unregistered with Land Registry, so I'm keen to determine who owns and is responsible for these trees.

Thank you for your enquiry. Individual landowners/householders are quite within their common law rights to cut back any overhanging vegetation to the point at which it crosses their boundary. The boundary is usually a feature such as a fence, wall or hedge. Landowners are allowed to cut this back as often as is required without seeking permission. Should the encroaching limb/s be significant in nature, we would very strongly suggest contacting the relevant local authority before carrying out any works.
Many thanks for your enquiry
