Dangerous crossing point to and from Slade Road and Great Western Park foot path

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Glyn Hall at 16:11, Thursday 9 July 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I have already put in this observation and got a response of investigated and closed via fix my street. This is not satisfactory as an accident could occur in the immediate future when with a bit of common sense and quick action could save lives. Please keep me in the loop so I can monitor what is being done?

  • Thank you for your enquiry. I am sorry to hear about your wife’s fall whilst walking along the grass verge. I hope she has / is recovering.

Having spoken with the County Council’s Road Agreements Team I understand that no agreement has been made with the developer (Taylor Wimpey) to link Barleyfields with the Pill Pond footpath / cycle path, and I also understand that this issue was not picked up at the planning stage by the District Council.

Notwithstanding the above, County Council officers are meeting on site next week to discuss how best to resolve this situation, and your enquiry will be updated again when there is further information to report.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
