Overgrown Trees Overhanging Property and Dropping Debris
Reported in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 15:28, Sun 5 July 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
A large tree on the path behind Carr Avenue is overhanging Numbers 9/10 Carr Avenue, dropping debrief and blocking out sunlight from the garden. It is also overhanging the path too low, and over the property of Number 69 Richens Drive. The tree itself is being strangled by Ivy and were some of the large overhanging branches to fall, they could cause severe property damage to at least 3 houses. In my opinion, the whole tree needs cutting right back or even removing. We lose sunlight to over 30% of our garden due to its location and condition, and were it to fall due to mismanagement, the council could face a lawsuit from at least 3 people.

In addition to this report, the whole of this road is overgrown. high sided vehicles are hitting the overhangs scarreing debris. the trees themselves are strangled by ivy and need investigating. several of the residents have noticed certain trees moving quite low down in moderate winds. other concerns are it's an acess route for St Johns Primary school, both by road and pedestrian. do not wish anyone or thing to be hit. regards

Thank you for your enquiry. We have been investigating this, the trees along this stretch are not in the ownership of Oxfordshire County Council in our capacity as local highway authority. Though we are taking action by trying to contact the land owner and therefore trees owner to enforce works. We will respond further once additional outcomes have been confirmed.
