Parking Restrictions for residents on Church Street, Bicester

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 13:52, Thursday 2 July 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I believe there is a need to relax the restrictions for residents of Church Street, Bicester, as many of us are now furloughed or forced to work from home. This means we have little option but to park our cars on the street. There hasn't been an issue until Monday (29th Jun) but now tickets are been enforced.

Parking on the road actually makes it safer, as it forces traffic to slow down as it comes to the width restricted 1-way system.

Further more, if the residents do not park on the street members of will instead use the road to park on, usually hours at a time with no consequence to them.

I ask if the single line enforcement can be eased at least temporarily for the residents as we are now having to move our cars around daily and struggle to find alternate locations for our vehicles, which are often inconveniently far away.

If we were living in a 'normal situation' I may better understand the single line restrictions, but given the mass effect COVID-19 is placing on our daily lives it doesn't seem too much to ask to not fine us for parking our cars outside our houses, when we have little alternative.
