Junction of Charney road with Spring Hill, Southmoor

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 12:52, Monday 29 June 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Spring Hill is being used as a cut through from A420 to go to Abingdon. lots of vehicles and heavy lorries drive so fast and this has raised a big concern for the safety of residents considering a child was killed at this blind corner years ago. police is aware of this risk and had suggested the member of public to contact OCC. Speed bumps would be a great solution to the high speed. please investigate.

  • Thank you for your report. We have checked the personal injury accident history and can confirm that there have been no such accidents at Spring Hill within the last 10 year period. The installation of Traffic Calming measures would require support of the local Parish Council, any such scheme would need to be designed, consulted upon and external funding found (developer, Parish Council etc), I regret that Oxfordshire County Council could not fund such a scheme at this time.
