Melting tarmac on junction of Stonesfield Riding and Farley Lane.
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 21:25, Thu 25 June 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Melting tarmac is causing a dangerous hazard for pedestrians, children and dog walkers. The intense heat is melting the carriageway at the above junction. Can sand be spread in this area? It happens every year can Highways look at the quality of the tarmac at this location?

The situation at this junction has worsened due to HGVs delivering to the building site along Farley Track. There are huge junks of the road melting now yet the adjacent roadway remains intact. Can the Highways team look into this problem as a matter of urgency.

Thank you for your report. The melting tarmac at this junction needs resurfacing so we have passed this on to our Technical Officer to arrange these works. Unfortunately due to the current situation we are unable to give a date for these at the moment. Thank you.
