Temporary Speed reduction signage confusing and inaccurate.

Reported in the Road Markings category anonymously at 17:32, Tue 23 June 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The Temporary Speed reduction is inadequate for the purpose. The temporary signs are hidden by the long grass on the verge. There is a temporary 30MPH sign followed by a 50MPH fixed sign then a Temporary National Speed limit sign all within the area cover by the Temporary Traffic Order. someone need to review the drawing on the Order and place the correct signs.

  • Temporary signs on west side of the road have been turned over. First indication a road-user gets approaching from Benson is a sign advising speed restriction ahead which is about the length of a cricket pitch in front of the first 30 mph sign, making it v difficult for a motorist to slow down in time safely. Have increasingly seen incidents of reckless overtaking along that whole stretch where only a few drivers are complying with the 30 mph limit.

  • This has not been dealt with after more than 2 months and traffic is ignoring the speed restrictions it seems.
