Bridge over gully for cycle lane collapsing

Reported in the Bridges category anonymously at 20:33, Wednesday 17 June 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The bridge over the gully at the end of the cycleway is collapsing. This is a poorly designed and difficult junction for cycles and dealing with what is effectively a pothole at the same time further discourages it's use.

Council ref: ENQ20867971

  • The condition of the bridge has deteriorated rapidly since the original report. The planks at the Whites Lane end of the bridge now present a signifcant safety hazard. Potholes in the road that are this size get immediate attention. The sheets that are supposed to provide a skid resisatant surface are now loose and have become an additional hazard. This juction is poorly designed and difficult to negotiate safely at the best of times. Now that the bridge is falling apart it has become positively dangerous.
