Failing road surface causing vibration inside properties
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 11:00, Tue 16 June 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later
A stretch of failing road surface, previous repairs which have sunk below the level of the carriageway and access covers which are no longer level with the surface between nos. 39 and 43 Wallingford Road are now causing noise disturbance and significant vibration inside the properties of 6 and 1 The Mews, particularly when anything heavier than a car passes the properties. Given that they are old houses there is concern about the effect continued vibration will have on the foundations and structure of the properties. My house has the stone wall right on the pavement and my sleep is now being affected by both the noise and vibration these two areas are causing. Ideally, the section of Wallingford Road of approx 200yds between Court Drive and Shillingford Bridge should be resurfaced as it has been patched so many times over the years and the edges of the carriageway are now cracking away from the centre of the road. I would be happy to meet a representative at my property to evaluate the issue.
