Road Drainage, water pooling and road surface breaking up

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 10:43, Monday 1 June 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Road works at this location today are only relaying the opposite half of the road outside our property (we expected the complete road width), leaving less than 2m of un-repaired road. Within that area, surface water collects in large puddles and does not effectively drain to the drainage pipe that (by design) takes road surface water onto our property. The road surface is breaking up and sinking in areas. The road edge is receding as it becomes more damaged. It would have been simple to include this area in the repairs that are taking place today and over the next two days but the workmen inform us that it is not included. If it is not possible to add to current works, please action separately as the repair that is being done will probably make this problem worse as drainage from the other side of the road will run across (there is no other provision for drainage on the opposite side of the road at this point). The issue with drainage and degradation of the roadway here has been happening for over 5 years.
