2 street lights stopped working next to building work

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 08:51, Sunday 31 May 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The lights appear to have stopped working when ground works were being undertaken on lane to new site next to Smith's Farm Foxhall Road. This has been the case for several months

  • Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights.

  • It took a year for the light to be fixed on the other side of Brasenose junction. I hope because this time it involves 2 lamps that don't mean it will take 2 years to fix. This is a busy junction and the lighting level is not good especially for pedestrians crossing at night of which there are quite a number

  • Some men came and replaced the head of the Brasenose Road light then disappeared because I think they realised the power supply was not there. So I guess we have to wait for the “men to dig the hole-to fix the cable that works the lights Etc etc”
