Fire engine stuck and clipped building this evening 10/06/20 19:45. Luckily we were here, not always the case. There is structural damage to the top of this listed building ( not from this evenings incident). Please do something to help as soon as you can. I do not want to go to The Oxford Times but if necessary I will. This house was built in 1725. We need signage to advise drivers of width of access!

I assume the property in question is the one on the corner of Park St & Rectory Lane. The turn is very tight and not suitable for larger vehicles. To ban the turn would require the making of a Traffic Regulation Order costing in the order of £4k including any associated signing work. The County is currently unable to fund this. An alternative physical measure would be for the property owner to apply to the County for the provision of a “bell bollard” which is a substantial iron bollard shaped to deflect vehicles away from where the bollard is installed. There are many styles available, please follow the attached link. https://www.furnitubes.com/ street-furniture/ bell-bollard This option would be less visually intrusive, more in keeping with the environment and be a physical barrier.
