Large trees x 4 overgrown
Reported in the Trees category by Lewis Doyle at 11:12, Friday 22 May 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Overgrown trees causing damage to my property roof, my home insurance said the owner of the land will be liable for any damage through neglect. Also large branches are falling off due to high wind. There is a large injury risk as there is a footpath that runs next to the trees and a school next door. Attention is urgent.

We have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. OCC maintains land that is HMPE (highway maintainable at public expense) in its capacity as local highway authority. The trees referred to in the enquiry are on land that is not HMPE. You can access the land registry at: https://www.gov.uk/ search-property-information-land-registry to find details of the adjacent landowner to pursue your enquiry. It may also be appropriate to contact the District, Town or Parish Council to further your enquiry. You are also within your common law rights as a landowner to cut any overhanging or encroaching vegetation back to the boundary line of your property.
Many Thanks For your enquiry.
