Bridge hit by wide vehicle
Reported in the Bridges category anonymously at 21:07, Tue 19 May 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
A vehicle has hit the first bridge on the Oxfordshire side. Vehicles appear not to be restricted by weight, but the listed bridges are historic and are at risk of permanent damage if wife, heavy vehicles continue to be directed this way by HGV satnavs.

As an act of sheer genius on 9th September there will be no access for most of the day to or from the A418 over the bridges between Ickford and Tiddington nor via Shabbington due to two sets of roadworks. Both of these may be the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council but obviously there is a notice on the Buckinghamshire side at the bridges so one cannot tell. One set of those works should be postponed so as not to clash and if OCC are responsible for both I would request that you liaise with them pronto please.
