Lay-by opposite residential properties being used as a truck stop, dumping ground, public convenience and a late night meeting place.

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This lay-by has doubled in size in recent years, it is now used daily as a truck stop, including over night. It is also being used daily as a public convienience for motorists, a late night meeting place and flytipping. Many of the lorries have external fridge units which run throughout the night. Most motorists who stop here leave engines running for a number of hours. I’m proposing the closure of the lay-by as there are two further safe places for vehicles to stop that are not adjacent to residential properties.

It may be possible to close this lay by but it may be necessary to do so by legal order including consultation. This could be a lengthy and expensive undertaking for which the county would not have funding. Access would have to remain for the adjacent landowner. If an external source of funding were available then it might be a possibility. Have a word with your local Parish Council to gauge their opinion also.
