Failure to complete roadworks
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 09:49, Mon 11 May 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
Your contractor put down a new layer of chippings on The Slade, Charlbury but they have not come back to finish the work, the top layer of tarmac has not been applied and the road markings have not been repainted. They also did not move the cars parked on the lay-bys, despite the police being present, so no repairs were made there. At the same time they don't appear to have noticed that the pavements also need resurfacing. The traffic island opposite Crawborough needs new illuminated bollards. Finally, all the verges along The Slade and on the corner of Dytchley Road are very overgrown, full of weeds and ground elder and need to be dug over, composted and reseeded with wild flowers.

Your contractor still hasn't resurfaced the lay-bys, nor removed their signage from either end of the road. None of the connecting roads, e.g. Ticknell Road have been touched. The damaged illuminated bollards still hasn't been repaired. All the verges need cutting again. Enstone Road, Browns Lane, Dyers Hill, Church Lane, and Church Road were and are in a far worse state than The Slade and badly need resurfacing and repainted markings. All the pavements throughout Charlbury need repair, and weed clearance. All the traffic/speed limit signs, which must be listed by you, are either being swallowed by foliage or filthy, making them impossible to see and dangerous. There are cast iron bollards on several of the roads in Charlbury, they are all rusting, covered in dirt or falling over. Please could you send out repair and maintenance crews.
