Thank you for your report, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, and the need for our plans to remain flexible with the developing situation and with reference to the Government & Public Health England’s advice. We are carrying out works as in line with the relevant guidance:
Oxfordshire County Council has had to make a difficult choice to take the appropriate precautionary measures, to ensure we protect our workforce and ensure we have a safe and reliable service to all highway users. Therefore, we find ourselves in an unprecedented situation where we must make choices about what work can be carried out due to the available resources. Consequently, we will only be focusing on emergencies as a priority at this time.
We hope you can appreciate that we will of course focus on Strategic Roads of importance, and certain locations with high prominence. This is not to say that the fault you have raised will not be reviewed, but as we are in unprecedented times and are working hard to ensure that all faults will be attended at some stage.
If there is a cable fault/damage this will be passed to the local Electricity Company (i.e. District Service Operator) to repair, this take slightly longer to be repaired, as this will dependant on the new priorities of dealing with essential works/projects that are directly supporting the effort to combat Covid-19 such as works to create temporary testing or other medical facilities etc.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during these challenging times, however should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
