Cracked and uneven pavement adjacent to Skate Park on Ladygrove Estate
Reported in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 13:51, Fri 10 April 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
The man laid on the ground in the photo was out running with his young family when he caught his foot on the very uneven surface causing him to ‘turn over’ on his ankle which has actually resulted in broken/snapped ankle and he is laid waiting for the ambulance to arrive!
This path has been the subject of subsidence for a long period and it is not surprising that this has now happened!

This tarmac path subsidence is in several places along 300 to 400 Metres of this pathway which is used extensively by the public and for proms, pushchair, wheelchairs and disability scooters and needs to be rectified at the earliest opportunity!

This public access route adjacent to the 'loop line' rail track on the Ladygrove Estate remains an unsafe surface albeit there is now temporary signage advising 'uneven surface'; this pedestrian access route is in urgent need of repair!

Oxfordshire County Council should be ashamed here, this has to be one of the worst pavements in the country despite OCC fielding many candidates for that accolade.

This pavement is just the ‘tip of the iceberg’; the Ladygrove Estate is full of ‘Fix My Street’ reports and they never get attended too, moreover, the streets are poorly maintained with weeds growing out of all the pathways around the estate, more pathways suffering subsidence and obscene graffiti adjacent to Ladygrove Park School, the whole area appears to have been completely neglected by OCC and/or Didcot Town Council ever since they took over from the building contractors almost 20-years ago!! Please will those responsible get their ‘teams’ working on putting things right or is this the way Great Western Park and any future developments will end up?!?!

There are still lots of very bad cracks in this path along the railway line, all the way from Cow Lane to way past the skate park. The cracks have been reported repeatedly in the past but still nothing has been done (even though the old posts seem to have disappeared). Are we waiting for more injuries to happen, e.g. when the Parkrun starts up again on this path?

Thank you for this report. This section of foot/cycle way surface has been passed to the relevant Technicians for consideration for future programmed works. In the meantime the worst sections are having repairs raised for them. This report is now closed.
