Street lights not adequate and not working
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 13:21, Mon 16 March 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
Please get this lamp to do it's job. The lamp on this junction should apparently be working on a motion sensor and timer. After sunset it does not pickup motion on approach from or onto Childrey Way. On the rare occasions when it does, it does not stay on long enough to allow safe passage along the path from or towards Vicarage Hill. This path is the only access to the row of houses along it. The photo shows the dark tunnel of the path on an average night. It would also be more useful if it actually illuminated the path rather than the lay by.

Ref:00368939 Thank you for your report, OCC are now responding to out of lights within the contracted timescales of attending site within 7 working days for repairs. If there is a cable fault this will be passed to the Electricity company to repair and will take longer, it will depend on the resources which the District Service Operator has. Thank you

Previously reported two years ago. Response then to raise the problem up priority list. No action. Problem is :- large tree in verge is a source of danger, as its roots are directly over a gas main. If you agree I will, at my expense , have it removed by a qualified arborist, preferably Ian Trotter of Childrey. Willing to meet with your agent at the site, at your convenience. Tel. 01235769036.
