Flooding over both carriageways at the junction of A417 and entrance to Shellingford village
Reported anonymously at 08:31, Tue 3 March 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council 5 minutes later
For much of February, cars heading into or out of the village must queue in order to drive through the temporary ford, which is not draining away. Water is flowing from the field onto the road. I assume the road drainage is blocked, probably due to silt and sand from local quarries.

It is no longer raining so therefore there is no flooding. This does not mean the problem has been fixed, it has merely gone away. The issue is chronic - ie it has been happening for a number of years - so i suggest that BEFORE the next heavy rainy season, the council investigates the root cause of this flooding, and solves the root cause.
