Flooding of road coming into village before bridge,
Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 14:46, Sun 1 March 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
The gullys that take water into the stream during heavy rain are blocked with mud. When the stream becomes too high the water backflows into the gullys and is supposed to enter an overflow gully into the woods. This overflow gully is also blocked with mud. The extraction of sand and gravel at the top of the road by Hills has left the reinstated land with very poor drainage and after rain the water runs under a gate and across the road and runs in a stream towards the village. The water pools before the bridge and because of the aforementioned blocked gullys floods the road.

The bridge railing on the other side of the road has now been destroyed by a vehicle and is barriered off. No work has been done on the gullies as water built up there during recent storms.

Flooding routinely after heavy rain though water goes down slowly due some attempts by locals to alleviate the problem.

Road washed out during recent heavy rain and barely passable in vehicles. Locals alleviated problem with spades and rakes but drains and gullies need urgent remedial work.
