Grass Verge Destruction by parking vehicles - request for wooden posts
Reported in the Grass and Hedges category anonymously at 20:15, Monday 24 February 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 6 minutes later
I reported this over a year ago and no action has been taken. The grass verge has been destroyed by vehicles parking there (instead of using the station paying car park, ie this is not used by the street residents). I understand that the Oxfordshire council is responsible for roads and that there is a possibility to request for posts to be placed:
"Where a town or parish council wants permanent protection for a verge:
Pressure treated or hardwood wooden posts at least 100mm (4 ins) square, set 600mm (2 ft) into the ground, 600mm (2 ft) tall, and set back 450mm (18 ins) from the road, could be used"
Can we request for this to be done? Local residents adjacent to the area are more than willing to make the area good again (soil needed) and replant grass and wild flowers.
