Continuing pond where Oxfordshire had dug up grass to form a soakaway for the road
Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 17:26, Saturday 22 February 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
Water ends up ponding on the footpath next to the crossing which lots of kids use on their way to school and water remains for a long time. This is next to an area of grass but it doesn't drain unto it as the grass is higher than the footpath. I understand that Oxfordshire Highways dug this grassed area up to create a soakaway for the road.

Significant rainfall accumulating and takes time to seep away. I am glad to see there is attention being given to this problem. Is there an update on your side please?

Thank you for your report. A site visit was made today where I spoke to the enquirer & explained the piece of land in question was not maintained by OCC as shown on our highways land & records system & for the enquirer to contact the Parish Council for a response. When the soakaway was rejuvenated it was not near the area in question that is now ponding. Whilst on site 6x 28 day pothole defects were raised. This report is now closed.
