Intermittent light
Reported via Android in the Street lighting category by Duncan Wright at 11:20, Sat 22 February 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later
The street light at the rear of 9 Arundel Close does not remain lit during hours of darkness. Every 2-3 minutes it fails and goes out. It then slowly becomes dimly lit but as the light intensity builds to a normal level it fails again.
Council ref: 2014487

Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights.

This light is still not fixed. Pretty disappointing. Last time I reported a street light you did nothing for months until I wrote to Robert Courts MP and then mysteriously it was fixed in 2 days! Is there any danger of getting it repaired without the need for further escalation? He will be as disappointed in your performance as I have been.

Yet again had to send a letter to my MP before this light got fixed. Got a sorry excuse from the council who alleged miscmiscommunication about the column number. Mysteriously fixed within 2 days of Mr Robert Courts MP receiving my complaint. Someone needs sacking. 2 street lamps reported as broken in 6 months, both taking months to fix and both fixed within days of my MP asking why nothing had been done. Very inefficient in a time when the government needs to account for and get value for every penny spent!
