Pavement road markings faded and no warnings to pedestrians or vehicles in the road
Reported anonymously at 21:49, Mon 17 February 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council 1 minute later
At the end of bushey row towards where the road meets the high street road- there are a number of issues: 1- there is a very narrow path halfway down this is too narrow for a buggy or wheelchair and forces you into the road. 2- there used to be painted lines on the other side of the road which marked the path that picks up from the pavement over the road. This is now faded and you cannot see it; you also cannot walk along it completely because a hedge over hangs onto it. 3- the way this road is currently set out means that pedestrians are walking along this road. There is no signage warning that pedestrians are in the road and cars are travelling at 30mph. It is a heavily used route for pedestrians as there is a footpath that joins into this road by frogwell house. 4- currently with the parked cars along this road this road really can only operate as single laned. This means that cars are often on the wrong side of the road or the middle of the road. They cannot see what is coming around the corner. There is no warning that cars are in the middle of the road coming towards the other cars. This route is heavily used by cars as a cut through and I have witnessed several near crashes.
These issues seem to have been present for too long, but perhaps added to by the development opposite Calais dean. I have recently moved near to this Road so am identify the issue especially as a user of the route with small children

This has still not been resolved and we are now coming into October. The matter is getting worse as I have also seen Several lorries try to get down this narrow route; with one lorry having to reverse all the way back to New road.

A parish councillor has spray marked part of the road to try to give some protection to pedestrians who are in the road walking as there is no pavement. There is NO WARNING SIGNAGE OF PEDESTRIANS BEING IN THE ROAD. The white lining needs to be more permanent and clear as a matter of urgency before someone is knocked over.

This is dangerous and nothing has been done yet. The white lining needs properly putting down. Pedestrians HAVE TO WALK IN THE ROAD ! There are no warning signs and this is part of a route now to a building site for 18 flats. Does a child have to die here before something is done??
