More misery on the A417 between East Hendred and Rowstock due to Traffic Lights and STILL NOT being manually operated to minimise delays.

Reported in the Current Roadworks category anonymously at 14:03, Thursday 13 February 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

What is it with OCC not being ABLE to communicate with whoever has to carry out roadworks on the A417 Wantage to Rowstock Road?

Each and EVERY time there are roadworks on the A417, there are unnecessary delays purely because no one manually controls traffic lights at peak times!!!!

I, and many other motorists have had enough of this incompetence.

It's not as if anyone hasn't complained before either. There are complaints EVERY TIME, and yet no one from OCC insists that whoever carries out roadworks on the A417 minimises delays by PROPER traffic management.

  • Exact same scenario this evening, as there has been 2 other evenings this week, and countless times before.

Traffic queued right back beyond Rowstock Roundabout, and ONLY 6 cars queuing from the Wantage direction.

  • This problem WILL NEVER be fixed until such time OCC insist that traffic lights are manned at peak times.
