Dangerous ponding due to poor road surface
Reported in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 16:01, Sun 9 February 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 10 minutes later
1. Extensive ponding adjacent to our driveway (Cherry Trees) and adjacent hose driveway (Well Cottage). 2. The road is in very poor condition - subsidence, poor camber & no drainage. Last week the County Council did some work on potholes near this area & it has made the ponding much worse. 3. Water splashes over our gate into our property. I was also drenched by water yesterday - as I was walking along the roadside (there is no pavement) into the village centre. 4. As there is no pavement here - so pedestrians are at risk - as cars come around the blind bend & swerve to avoid or aquaplane through the water as they hit it. I am concerned that a pedestrian or cyclist is going to get hit by a car. We have witnessed several near misses in the past & now the problem is getting much worse due to the deteriorating surface & recent pot hole works making the ponding worse.
