Large craters in the carriageway
Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 18:03, Friday 24 January 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
Location: basically all of Beaumont Street needs resurfacing (properly). At the location of the report pin there is one large depression in the road surface. Looks like subsidence occurring beneath the carriageway. Around the location in both directions between Walton / Worcester Street and St Giles there are numerous either large humps or depressions in the road surface and potholes. All cause damage to vehicles. Holes trigger vehicle proximity warning sensors, aren't easily avoidable and dangerous to cyclists day or night, located at or near a pedestrian crossing point (island). All road marking require repainting as either faded to point of invisibility or degraded / missing altogether.
Present: 1-2 months.
