Change speed limit to 30

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:06, Fri 24 January 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later

It is very dangerous pulling out of Cold harbour onto the B471, the trees obscure view and so we pull out almost blind onto a 50 mph road. Someone will get hurt.

  • Thank you for your report and please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in response. The B471 along this section is currently subject to a 50mph speed limit, which is not uncommon for a rural road of this type and circumstance. If the speed of vehicles is of concern to yourselves and the wider community we would suggest, if you haven't already and in the first instance, discussing this with your Parish Council as they are best placed to determine if this is a priority for their local area and are also well placed to both secure the funding and promote any further consideration of this matter with ourselves at Oxfordshire County Council. Indeed, if vehicles are regularly breaking the speed limit then the parish may also wish to encourage Thames Valley Police to undertake some sort of speed enforcement along this section of road.
