Dangerous New Lighting at Sturdys Castle

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 10:44, Friday 24 January 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

Sturdys Castle pub on the Banbury Road have installed extremely bright, horizontal facing LED lights in their car park. The lights shine straight into the face of traffic driving towards the Banbury Road junction from the unlit road to Tackley, thereby blinding the driver. When driving back towards Tackley it still blinds you through the rear view and wing mirrors. It is only a matter of time before a serious accident is caused by these lights. I run our village email notices scheme and several people have complained to me. Many residents have complained directly to the pub, and to our parish council, who have all tried to contact them, but Sturdys Castle are ignoring our concerns. A few years ago a man was killed in Oxfordshire when a badly installed security light dazzled a driver. I am extremely concerned that a similar incident is going to occur as a result of these lights
