Lamp post light not working
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 19:13, Thu 23 January 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
Lamppost on the path of Blenheim drive Witney runs along the back of the houses on abbey road number 10 abbey road but on Blenheim drive, this is not a private path, private green or a private light!! If you come out and have a look you will see! Right next to the big tree, I’m not going to keep coming back and forth telling you where it is and confirming it is NOT on private property! If you bother to visit when the light is suppose to be on you will see which ones! Been like it for months
This light, we believe number 4, together with the next 2 lights along Blenheim Drive, numbers 5 & 6 were reported and identified as the underground supply cable had gone 'dead' before Christmas and that was reported to the electricity company SSEN who owns the cables to the lights and houses. They reported back last week that they had repaired the cable problem on Wednesday 22nd January!.. but I note your report is sent on Thursday evening 23rd... so please will you confirm otherwise that the light/s still not working thanks.

It worked for 1 night after the work and they’ve not worked since so still a problem somewhere

Thanks.. i will raise another job now for our contractor to inspect and IF the supply cable is live he should be able to effect a repair and get the light working. IF it turns out that the supply cable has failed again then we will send the 'No Supply' notice once again to SSEN advising them that their previous efforts resulted in only a 1 night operation. once i get a report back from our contractor i will let you know what we found.

Unfortunately as expected the electrical supply has failed again and that has been reported to SSEN the cable owners. We have advised them that as a result of their last repair the lights only operated for 1 night..thanks you for your help with that information, we will press them for a 'permanent' long lasting repair.
