Missing '50' repeater sign

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 09:41, Thursday 23 January 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later

There are eight missing '50' repeater signs on the A4142 Southbound carriageway between the junction for Kiln Lane and the junction for Horspath Driftway. There are plenty of repeater signs along the Northbound carriageway and similarly on the continuation of this road down to the Littlemore roundabout. It is just this section - I have included pictures from google maps of where they was/should be. They have been missing for a minimum 7 months now.

  • Thank you for your report, We are aware of this as it is an ongoing issue. We have replaced the signs along here many times and they have been repeatedly stolen over a number of years. We plan to increase the height of the poles so that the signs are harder to steal and hopefully resolve this problem. Unfortunately Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the funds to do such a scheme at this point in the financial year. We will add this to our list for future programmed works in the 2020/21 financial year.
