20 ft pothole on A338 in Frilford Heath outside Pine Tops house
Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 14:05, Wed 15 January 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 7 minutes later
This pothole has been here for about two months and is getting bigger very quickly and is already wide enough to fit a lorry tyre in. It is especially dangerous when it is filled with water and at night as there are no street lights on the road and so can’t be seen easily on the 50mph road.

The pothole is about 30ft now and getting wider and deeper by the day. The road is crumbling and the pothole has gone over the white line. Lorry wheels are falling into it daily at 50mph causing loud bangs and continual damage. I believe it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs.

The pothole is a lot bigger and much wider and cars/lorries/buses are having to actively drive around it as it now goes well over the white line. It is also getting deeper (difficult to see with water in it). It is extremely dangerous on such a dark fast (50mph) road. The photos show that the road is crumbling so the pothole is going to continue to expand into the road becoming more hazardous as it pushes cars onto the opposite side of the road to avoid it.
