SGN temporary traffic lights at entrance to Larkmead School

Reported in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 15:57, Thu 9 January 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

These temporary lights were set up yesterday evening. This morning it took me 30 minutes to travel from Dalton Barracks to St Helen's School via Barrow Road. Can you please ask SGN to manually operate the lights at peak times. It was gridlock this morning.

  • This morning,Monday 13 January 2020, the traffic lights are not working resulting in a tailback from the Spring Road/Ock Street mini roundabouts to the work. I say 'work' but during the twice daily times I have needed to travel along this road there has been no one in attendance and no evidence of any work having taken place.

  • Once again, chaos ensues. So, the traffic lights are still in situ, no sign of any work being done and to cap it all the lights were not working at all this morning. Can someone please investigate this as a matter of urgency

  • The traffic lights at Larkmead School were completely off this morning at peak school traffic time. This caused severe traffic gridlock and chaos in this area including for the buses. The contractors responsible for these roadworks need to know what happened.

  • Traffic lights are still here (5 weeks now) causing traffic havoc. Having passed this route 4-6 times a day each working day and sometimes at the weekends I have not seen any work or evidence of any work being carried out. Can the lights be removed?
