New bollard has no reflective sign at 30mph restriction area to church Hanborough

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category by Penelope Marcus at 22:29, Wednesday 8 January 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

This new bollard was put up at the traffic chicane at the 30mph restriction to Church Hanborough on Church Road, but it has been missing the reflective directional arrow. Consequently it is not visible to approaching traffic. This is an urgent matter and the sign should be applied to the bollard as soon as possible.

  • On the 29th January 2020 my car hit this pothole on the way to work. The pothole had not been marked in anyway to verify the council were aware of it. Or to highlight it to the public. It is on church road, long hanborough just after the 40mile an hour sign heading to church hanborough. You can see from the images it damaged my tyre and a new one was required. Is it possible to be reimbursed for this? Happy to forward on proof of cost.

I look forward to hearing from you. Rachel White Rawhite1@hotmail.co.uk

  • It is totally unacceptable that there has been no response or action by OCC to deal with the urgent request a month ago to install a reflective sign on a bollard where the unlit road narrows at the entrance to Church Hanborough. You have now received a further complaint that there was a pothole in the road that has been equally neglected. Please respond to these complaints promptly.

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 1926789. This problem has not been fixed at any time since 8 January when it was first reported 23 weeks ago. This is extremely dangerous because the road directional sign is missing. What OCC have done is to conflate two complaints, and only deal with the pothole reported on 29 January and not with the earlier complaint of 8 January or that of 5 February. See photos attached.
