Overgrown hedge encroaching on public footpath

Reported in the Grass and Hedges category anonymously at 16:17, Tue 31 December 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

The large conifer hedge on St Andrews's Road, west side, approaching Broadway is so overgrown that my husband who is very tall (6ft 6") cannot walk along the pavement without his head brushing against the overgrown conifer. Even lower at foot level it is still taking over the pavement. It needs cutting back a lot. It has been like this for several years.

  • The trimming has focused on the upper overhanging part which is much better, but the whole hedge is still covering nearly half of the pavement. It has not been cut back enough. Please see the updated photo taken yesterday.

  • Updated photo taken today shows that the hedge has been trimmed neater but not cut back completely off the public pavement, so the pavement is still unacceptably narrow.
