At the junction of Church Lane and Beaulieu Court , Sunningwell
Reported in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 14:09, Mon 23 December 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
The road drain at the junction of Church Lane and Beaulieu Court at the east end of Sunningwell village is blocked. The outflow which is believed to run west down the hill into Sunningwell village is obstructed. the resulting flood is damaging the driveway to Beaulieu Court as drivers drive through the water causing a tidal wave. More importantly as drivers traverse the flood they are perpetually creating an area of very wet road which, should the weather deteriorate, will freeze and become very dangerous. The road is very narrow and has blind bends at this point. The drain sump needs cleaning but more importantly, the drain outlet needs a drain camera/jet washing to investigate and clear the blockage. Failure to take action will further damage householders driveway which could result in a claim, and creates an unnecessary hazard to road users. Your urgent attention is required. Pictures are available should you require them.

This is causing serious problems for passing traffic which raises walls of water and runs serious risks of accidents. It would be alleviated if a bollard were erected on the grass corner of the entrance to Beaulieu Court which would encourage traffic to stay away from the gravelled drive of Beaulieu Court. Additionally, maintenance would be made easier if a gravel and debris trap were to be fitted to the street drain.
