Cycle & pedestrian bridge over the Thames

Reported in the Bridges category anonymously at 08:46, Mon 23 December 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 8 minutes later

Cyclists and pedestrians need an accessible, safe, alternative crossing over the Thames. Currently the only option for cyclists West of Oxford to Tadpole bridge (Bampton Road) is the Swinford Toll bridge - accessed by the very busy B4044, and Newbridge on the major A415 route. Bablock, would appear to be a reasonable location for a foot/cycle bridge.

With all the planned massive expenditure on the A40, and large numbers of new housing - and associated vehicles on the road, a safe access footbridge should be given priority.
