Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

Please can someone look at the terrible marking on Barton lane. Cars are parking on bends and opposite t-junctions!! I've seen 3 near misses in the last 10 minutes and felt compelled to email.

Main culprits are near VTECH building.

  • The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’, this involves a long and expensive legal process including public consultation, I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the available funding for such a scheme.

We would suggest that an initial approach is made to the industrial estate land owners or your Parish Council so that due consideration can be given towards its priority within the local area and so that the proposal can be endorsed and promoted locally. Parish Councils are also well placed to secure the necessary financial cost to such a scheme.

It should also be noted that vehicles parking in a dangerous position are committing an offence under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1998 which should be reported to Thames Valley Police
