Traffic lights timing
Reported in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 09:44, Wed 11 December 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
The current traffic lights timing gives about two seconds for a vehicle to enter the roundabout from Godstow Rd, which is both too short and incredibly dangerous.
Can the timing of the lights be altered so that the vehicles can have longer to enter the roundabout? A small change would make a massive difference to reducing congestion and avoiding accidents.
Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council regarding the Wolvercote roundabout traffic signals. As the Godstow Rd is not signalised we have already assisted this approach with an increased delay between the Woodstock Rd and the adjacent circulatory carriageway on the roundabout. There is also a queue detector on the Godstow Rd approach to the signals which increases this delay to allow additional vehicles out. The operation of the junction has been checked and found to be working as intended without any current faults.
