This is another devastating, car killing pothole - potentially lethal for cyclists and motorcyclists. I was forced further left than usual by an oncoming car over the white line - the tyre was destroyed instantly and the wheel damaged. The same evening a friend saw another car at the same point, stopped and trying to change a wheel in a very difficult position on this busy road in the dark. Please remedy s soon as possible for the safety of all.

This hole will cause accidents, and should be fixed immediately!

The day after I reported this pothole I saw a car in the hedge not far from the pothole - probably related. Tonight, 15th December 2019, coming home we found three cars stopped on a dark wet night, within yards of the pothole - we stopped to ask if they were okay and were told that they had five flat tyres and damaged wheels between them - all in the space of 20 minutes. This piece of damaged road is a very serious hazard and having had the problem reported to them so many times and taken no action, I trust the council will be paying for all these damaged wheels and tyres and perhaps tow truck recoveries too. Time for some action - truly!

This evening, Wednesday 18th December, there is another car with multiple punctures being recovered by a tow truck from this same pothole by the Sparsholt turn. Both the damaged car and the tow truck represent a hazard on another dark wet night. On the 10th December it was posted above that this piece of road was being investigated but there appears to have been no effort to mark the pothole or prevent further accidents and damage. I really hope Oxfordshire Highways are picking up the tab for all this damage to wheels and tyres. I suspect it will not now be long before this pothole causes a very much more serious accident. Please do something even if it is only to mark off the area with flashing lights and/or cones. Weeks have gone by since this damage was first noted on fixmystreet - the damage caused must now run to many thousands of pounds!
